Now a days When I greet people (other than my friends) I find a tough question to answer. I am little embarrassed to speak.
Not that they ask me about girlfriend(s)! they ask "which comp are you now?" and
"Are you in the same company ?". and as I say yes! they look at me as though I have committed a mistake!
and advice me "change your company dude you will earn more".
And I remembered the word “Every one gives advices, as this is the free and easiest thing in this world”
I often discuss with people about staying long in a same firm.
Many a times I get the same replies "It’s always better to switch in the initial time of your career"!
I was surprised but asked why? Almost same work, same environment like of any corporate firm etc.
and I was still not convinced.
I also got answers from people that you get better pay , better roles to play, job satisfaction.
I completely disagree that we always get better roles, after all it will be according to your experience.
Rarely or we may not see that 5+yrs experience person being a Manager!
Let’s talk about job satisfaction. What I feel is it is the happiness matters at the end of the day.
As long as you are in challenging work and working with good team that is your job satisfaction.
Again the word challenging is debatable, it depends on individual intellect. It’s not necessary that everyone
need to work on Rocket science.
Finally One thing is sure that we get better pay!
But no one can deny that staying long in same firm has also merits after all salary should not be a constraint.
People get to travel to foreign countries for long years, in that case the money earned is more compared
from the so called "change", "switch" or "jump" from companies to companies .
But in my case I never travelled for long term nor changed company, so I find hard to defend myself for the above question!
But some of my friends say that this is because of my emotional attachment, and I have wonder if that is the case!
As long as you are fascinated by your work, I think you are good to go in the company for any number of years!
But I always remember the words said by great person "don’t love your company love your job"
Feedback Welcome.
